In this issue, follow us as we explore the very latest mechanical puzzle news and designs. If you are interested in wooden mechanical puzzles or any puzzles in general, one category of puzzles you need to explore at some stage are Puzzle Locks.

Puzzle locks are one of the most popular mechanical puzzle categories. They usually consist of an ordinary-looking lock with unusual or hidden mechanisms that cannot be opened like a normal padlock, requiring an unusual solution, or trick, to enable it to be unlocked. We take a look at the incredible metal masterpieces in an exclusive article and interview with Rainer Popp on the design and manufacturing of his infamous Popplocks.

Dr Hiren Shah's reputation precedes him: he is a cerebral, ardent, puzzle and trick Lock collector, who is known worldwide. A native from Ahmedabad, India, and a practising paediatrician, he has always been fascinated by mechanical puzzles. In an article, he introduces the origins of locks, trick locks and tells us about his love for them.

We also share an exclusive interview with Dan and Boaz Feldman, who have been making high-precision, puzzle locks for many years. TheMetagrobologist has waited patiently to delve into the minds of two of the world's greatest puzzle lock artisans.

Also in this issue, we are also delighted to explore the puzzle making of Splinter Spierenburgh, Louis Coolen, Marcel Gillen and Robert Yarger as they explore their Puzzle Locks.

We also present a wonderful article on Constantine Bovalis who is a new exciting puzzle designer. TheMetagrobologist is excited to discuss with the designer the challenges and opportunities of working with mechanical puzzles and allow us an opportunity to share his new puzzles.
